I’m offering today an adorable Googly J.D.K. 221 reproduction doll with porcelain head, beautiful antique blue glass stationary eyes and bent limb composition baby body.   This is a small googly doll with delicate hand painted porcelain head and bent limb composition baby body.
Oh my goodness, wait till you see this doll in person.  She is truly one of a kind and one of my favorites from my personal doll collection.   I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has a wispy red mohair wig which is vintage, but is in new condition.  These mohair wigs are very expensive and look so precious on these antique reproduction dolls.  The blue and white grosgrain ribbon hair bow was designed and created by me.  I took pale baby blue stretch elastic and cut to fit the dolls head perfectly.  I then took the baby blue and white grosgrain ribbon and made a large bow.  I hand sewed the bow to the elastic hair band so it will remain securely on the dolls head.  It looks adorable and matches her vintage dress.
Her head is bisque/porcelain with beautiful coloring with realistic hand painted detailing.  This precious doll has a reproduction composition bent limb baby body which is delicate and dainty like the little doll.  Her neck, arms and legs can be posed in different positions.  With a bent limb body, these babies are really meant for sitting to display.  The back of her neck is hallmarked:  "J.D.K. 221, Germany".
Now to her vintage 1940's handmade dress.  The dress is made of baby blue cotton fabric with white rick rack framing the bottom of the skirt.  The bodice is white cotton with lace around the high collar.  The sleeves just peek over the top of her shoulders which are vintage white ruffled lace.  There are baby blue suspenders which accent the white bodice.  The back of the dress is kept closed with two white buttons.  Under her dress she is wearing white cotton bloomers which come down to the knees.  Her little curved baby legs peek out from under the blue ruffled skirt.  She is wearing baby blue Mary Jane shoes with blue buttons keeping them in place.  You will not find another doll like this one. She will come with her very own soft plush jointed puppy dog to keep her company to her new home.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.   Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
SIZE:
This beautiful JDK Googly porcelain and composition baby doll measures approximately 13" long.  Her baby puppy dog measures approximately 3" x 2-1/2".
CONDITION:
I would consider this doll in good Vintage condition.  She has a vintage mohair baby wig.  Her stationary German blue glass eyes are free of chips, cracks or breaks.  Her bent leg composition body is very nice with normal wear and paint loss for a doll of this age.  Her vintage dress has been laundered and ironed for her new mommy.  Her bisque/porcelain head is free of chips, cracks or breaks.  She is ready to display and what a gorgeous little baby doll.  We are an older couple and are free of Covid.  We have been home bound since March, 2020 and when we have to go out, are very careful to sanitize and stay away from others.  She is free of odors or offensive smells.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
