    Description

Rare high quality circa 1920s full motion film of an American couple on honeymoon in England, including a visit to Croydon Air Field -- showing several aeroplanes -- including:
A Handley Page Hampstead W9a, owned and operated by Imperial Airways Ltd, serial G-EBLE, -(which later crashed near Westerham at 2pm on 27th June 1927 due to running out of fuel. On board was the pilot, F.F. Minchin C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C. and nine passengers. The aircraft was on a flight from Paris to London, and on this occasion wasn't carrying a co-pilot or any other crew.)
A Handley Page HP42 owned and operated by Imperial Airways Ltd - showing plane and pilot.
A "Luft Hansa" Junkers G31 aircraft, tail wing D1310.
And a beautiful Compagnie Aerienne Francaise Farman F.60 Goliath airliner tail wing F-ADCR.
    The footage
was taken by the groom, an American pilot, so there's attention to detail here. Also included in the reel is a visit to Stonehenge, a nice shot of an English limo and car being placed onto an awaiting ship, a family saying goodbye at the shipyard, and a family on the beach with a dog.
There were originally ten reels in the collection, and one of the others that showed early PAA flights from Key West to Havana, Cuba sold to the Pan American Historical Foundation. This Croydon Air Field footage is likewise an incredible film of historical importance. The film, which runs for 7 min. and 45 sec. includes approx. 45 sec. footage at Croydon.
This film is the original negative and comes with its reel and can. For archival preservation, and research viewing purposes, the original negative has recently been professionally transferred by Kodak onto a thumb drive, which will accompany the 16mm original film. The transfer was a professional wet-gate digital transfer,  brightness adjustment, and other corrections, which were recommended to obtain optimal results. The condition of this film negative is overall about very good with a moderate film smell. This listing is for the original negative and thumb drive of the Kodak transfer. I only have this one original negative and thumb drive (which has not been copied or digitally stored elsewhere), and no other copies of this rare footage.
Thanks and have a great day!
