    Description

    WWII Original USN Mark 1 Training Bayonet measuring 20-1/4" overall with a blade length of 15-1/2". Socket ring broken off partially, with small chip on the point end of blade.  Excellent black grips with some age patina, wear, use.  The press-stud ejector works well.  These training bayonets were made in the 1940's for use by the Navy.  It has a metal tang and a black plastic blade.  Even though it's called a training bayonet, some feel it was used for guard duty and other non-combat assignments.*    The ricasso area of the blade is marked,
    "U.S.N. MARK 1/ P.B. CO. NXSO-29524".  Many of these were destroyed over time because of the plastic blade, this one has some breaks, but still intact.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
