Description
For your consideration is a historic, one of a kind, World War II, Theatre altered, PAL RH-34 knife. It comes with an old sheath. The knife is around 8 5/8" long with a blade that is around 4 3/4". It does have patina, stains and light pitting.Theatre knife refers to special handmade or altered knives. They were made or used in the various theatres of WWII. One of the best sources for all materials necessary to make or alter a knife was found in a shot-down aircraft. Good quality steel was used in many parts of the aircraft as well as the plexiglass from the windshield. As with this knife, some soldiers altered their issued knives by removing the old handles and replacing it with handle spacers made from plexiglass, aluminum, brass, or red, white and blue and black materials. This knife has had its handle removed and replaced with aircraft windshield plexiglass. It's hard to take a picture of but the initials R.L.N. are painted inside the plexiglass handle.
Everything is good and tight on this knife. Please see the pictures for the best description. I start all my auctions at .99 cents and ship quickly. If you purchase multiple knives, I will combine shipping, but please wait for an invoice. Good luck bidding.
